Derek Mittleider, M.D.
Dr. Mittleider, Director of Vascular & Interventional Services at Spectrum Medical Group, joined our practice in July, 2010 following fellowship training in Vascular & Interventional Radiology at the Baptist Cardiac and Vascular Institute in Miami, Florida. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School and completed his radiology residency at the Maine Medical Center.
Dr. Mittleider specializes in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease. He particularly has interest and expertise in treating patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid disease and peripheral arterial disease. He also has expertise in treating women suffering from uterine fibroids.
Dr. Mittleider has recently been appointed to serve on the American College of Radiology's (ACR) Interventional Radiology Education Committee of the Education Commission.

Did You Know? We treat varicose veins and spider veins? Varicose veins are swollen veins which protrude in a rope-like manner under the skin. Normal veins, by virtue of one-way valves, channel blood against gravity up the leg and back to the heart. When a valve becomes defective, it allows blood flow to leak back down the leg resulting in congestion and swelling of the vein. This is a medical condition called Venous Insufficiency.
